Virgo Monthly Horoscope

Virgo’s Child

My Approach to Forecasting

Jupiter expands whatever he touches.  He usually spends about 13 months in each zodiac sign.  His job is to bring joy, adventure, open-mindedness, advanced education, travel, global perspectives, and a sense that we are all one big happy family and not so very different from each other.  Because of his expansive tendencies, he brings “prosperity” and “abundance” to whatever concept he is focused on.  If things are good, he brings an abundance of good.  If things are bad, he brings an abundance of bad.

As 2010 begins, Jupiter is still in Aquarius and your sixth house until January 18th when he moves into Pisces and your seventh house.  Normally, Jupiter spends about 13 months in each zodiac sign, but this year it is a bit different.  Jupiter flies through Pisces at mock speed and then moves into Aries and your eighth house on June 6th.  Later, he turns around and heads back into Pisces and your seventh house on September 9th.  Then on January 22nd, 2011, he moves back into Aries and your eighth house again, where he will remain throughout the first half of 2011.

While in Aquarius, Jupiter focuses on social networking, friendships, group activities, the Internet, and teamwork.  Aquarius rules over independence, freedom, eccentricities, and wanting to be seen as both a unique individual and a great team player.  “All for one and one for all”, “We are all in this together”, “Together we stand, divided we fall”, and “I am my brother’s keeper” are Aquarian philosophies that Jupiter is working to encourage and embrace.  Globally, this has been one of the major themes of 2009.

For Virgo, this has been happening in your sixth house of daily work, coworkers, to-do lists, productivity levels, physical health, and “feeling useful”.  This has been a delightful energy for Virgos to work with.  Virgo rules the sixth house and this is an area that you are quite comfortable with.  Jupiter has been working to bring teamwork, international marketing, legal settlements, more clients, more projects, more workers, and/or more organization and logic into your daily work.  This area of your life has been booming with a great deal of energy.  This is a very productive and lucky place for you to host Jupiter.  One thing you might want to watch out for is weight gain and gluttony.  You have the planet in charge of expansion in the house of physical fitness, so you could be tempted to over eat, over drink, or push yourself too hard physically and cause exhaustion.

In Pisces, Jupiter focuses on kindness, compassion, charity, emotional well-being, spirituality, intuition, empathy, and bringing a sense of “magic” to the world.

For Virgo, he will be in your seventh house of marriage, best friends, business partners, and competitors (think yin-yang).  Jupiter will work to bring his blessings to your closest partnerships.  Romantic, social, and professional partnerships will be blessed during this time.  You will have plenty of opportunities to work in partnerships, to socialize in partnerships, and for enjoying romantic partnerships.  When other planets clash with Jupiter, you could find that your partnerships have more than their fair share of troubles and you could end up with more competitors than you like.  However, when left alone to do as he wishes, Jupiter will work hard to bless all of your partnerships.

In Aries, Jupiter embraces Aries’ pioneering spirit, enthusiasm, fiery passion, and willingness to compete for the sheer entertainment of it.  Unlike Aquarius’ teamwork approach to life, Aries is all about racing to the top and being number one.  Aries is generous, boisterous, and charming.  The competitive nature is not a selfish or mean energy, but a childlike “last one there’s a rotten egg!” type of playful energy.  Jupiter can have great fun bringing more of this optimistic can-do energy into the world.

For Virgo, it happens in your eighth house of trust and sharing, intimacy, fidelity, loyalty, joint finances, commissions, stock options, loans, lotteries, insurances, and other forms of profit sharing.  You could find you are in a creative, dynamic, and zesty mood romantically.  Rather than quiet dreamy date nights at home, you are more interested in playful, fun, and spontaneous interactions with your sweetheart.  Financially, you could find you are innovative, entrepreneurial, competitive, and motivated to work hard and earn a bigger share of the profits.  While Jupiter is in your joint finances sector, you could find that it is your spouse’s income that is blessed.  Since you share, that still boosts your financial situation.

When Jupiter backtracks and revisits Pisces and/or your seventh house, you could find that he is either bringing back various partnerships, dreamy romance, etc that worked well in the past, or he is simply giving the two of you a second wave of strong positive energy to work with.  You could also use this time to iron out peace agreements with competitors and enemies.

Saturn creates our personal challenges and “tough love” learning experiences.  He usually spends about two and a half years in each zodiac sign.  His job is to create learning experiences that are often uncomfortable but ultimately quite meaningful.  Saturn also rules over karma, cause and effect, ethics, and our sense of civic duty.  Therefore, it is not only important that we learn our life lessons well, but that we also conduct ourselves with honor and integrity while going through these challenges.  If we stay out of trouble, behave ethically, buckle down, and learn our lessons well, then Saturn rewards us with a gift just before he leaves that zodiac sign.  For example, if Saturn were traveling through the area of our charts that deals with professionalism, leadership, and success, then he would teach us some tough lessons about those concepts.  Then, if we learned our lessons and we behaved ourselves while doing so, Saturn would reward us with a job promotion, professional kudos, public recognition, etc.  We would be better at our jobs, better at leading our companies and communities, and/or we would be better at marketing and advertising ourselves.  If on the other hand, we did not learn our lessons, or we were unethical, blamed others for our problems, cheated, lied, etc then Saturn would simply move on to the next zodiac sign and we would have nothing to show for all the drama and trouble that we had just endured.  Saturn gets a bad reputation because many people think he is simply mean for the heck of it, when in actuality, he is like a “tough love” parent forcing us to grow up and act like a responsible adult.  Might not be very fun, but the rewards are well worth it.

As 2010 begins, Saturn is still making a preview visit in Libra and your second house.  He will backtrack and revisit Virgo and your first house from April 8th until July 20th.  During that time, he will make sure that you learned the life lessons you were taught over the last couple of years.  Then he will return to Libra and your second house where he will remain until October of 2012.

While in Virgo over the last couple of years, Saturn focused on our ability to feel like useful members of society.  Virgo rules over daily work tasks, to-do lists, coworkers, productivity levels, organizational skills, tools, and our physical health because if you are not physically able to do your fair share of the work, then you are not able to feel useful and productive.  The idea is that we are contributing something to society and not just lazing around picking daisies and playing Frisbee.  As lovely as eternal vacation might seem, at some point in our development, we all get bored of constant playtime and need something important to do.  “Did my life matter?  Did I contribute anything meaningful to the world?  What is my legacy, if any?”

For Virgo, this has been happening in your first house of “me”.  Your outer personality, self-image, hair styles, clothing, posture, body language, and overall way of presenting yourself to the outside world has been the focus of much scrutiny, personal challenge, and/or challenges.  You could have felt like no matter what you do, someone is going to say you did it wrong.  This can be one of the toughest locations to tolerate Saturn’s life lessons and learning experiences.  You could also find that Saturn is trying to teach you when to ignore other people’s criticisms.  The lesson might be, “Your opinion of me is none of my business.”  When all is said and done, you are meant to have a much stronger sense of who you are and how you come across to others, especially those who do not know you very well.

While in Libra, Saturn focuses on our partnerships.  While in this zodiac sign, Saturn forces us all to look at who we choose to partner with, what kind of partnerships we like, and how we behave within our partnerships.  It is not uncommon for marriages to suffer, best friends to “break up”, and for business partnerships to dissolve.  Competitors can become vicious, especially if they are pointing out real flaws in our character and not just making stuff up.  Libra rules diplomacy, fairness, justice, and mediation too.  Globally, we could see these topics becoming quite challenging for all countries.  Various government leaders will be challenged to pick carefully which countries they choose to partner with and which they choose to keep as enemies.  They would do well to remember Saturn’s focus on karma, integrity, and civic responsibility.

For Virgo, hosting Saturn in the second house can be financially problematic.  First, Saturn travels through the twelfth house challenging our mental health, then Saturn goes public by moving into our first house and challenging our personality and how we come across to others, and finally Saturn moves into our second house and challenges our sense of self-worth.  Theoretically, by this time, you are ready to see yourself in a positive light and are tired of being told that you are “doing it wrong” no matter what you do.  So learning to see yourself as something more than just your financial net worth can be a much easier and gentler life lesson.  Unfortunately, messing with your finances is usually Saturn’s favorite way to teach that lesson.  It is not the only way, but it is the most common method used.  By dealing with a lack of money, we learn to value ourselves beyond the material possessions we are capable of purchasing.  By learning how to earn our own way after years of being pampered and/or provided for by someone else can also teach us self-worth.  Sometimes, you have to learn how to budget, how to stretch a dollar, or how to prioritize what is really important during lean times.  These can all feel lousy at the time, but can build your self-confidence and help you to feel that you can overcome tough situations.  Remember Saturn’s goals is to teach you financial responsibility, financial independence, and/or self-worth, so do not allow yourself to be dishonest or unethical while being forced through these challenges.

Uranus is the eccentric genius, rebellious teenager, and social networking guru of the zodiac.  He usually spends about 7 years in each zodiac sign.  He rules over friends, teams, clubs, committees, professional associations, networking, science (interconnectivity), electricity, and the Internet.  He can bring teamwork, friendships, networking, and a sense of belonging to something bigger than yourself into your life.  He can also bring stubbornness, eccentricity, rebellion, and perversity.  This is because at his core, he is trying to convince us to be our unique individual selves but also to be a great team player.  Thus, like a teenager, he is trying to find himself while being very susceptible to peer pressure.  Those who master Uranus’ teachings often make charming and charismatic leaders.  Uranus also encourages us to think outside the box and brings a certain eclectic brilliance into our lives.  Like the eccentric genius and the rebellious teenager, he brings pleasant surprises and unexpected chaos.  Uranus promotes humanitarian ideals like brotherhood, “all for one and one for all”, and “united we stand, divided we fall.”  He is not asking us to be sheeple, following the crowd mentality with blind faith.  He is asking us to know our unique gifts and to be strong enough in our self-knowledge to be able to work well in a team and to be able to socialize without losing our sense of individuality.

As 2010 begins, Uranus is still in Pisces and your seventh house.  He will stay in this area of your chart most of the year, but will be visiting Aries and your eighth house from May 28th through August 13th.  Then he moves back into Pisces and your seventh house until he makes a more permanent move into Aries and your eighth house in March 2011.

There are zodiac signs where Uranus shines and is emboldened to bring about wonderful brotherly love and incredible scientific advances, like when he was in his own zodiac sign, Aquarius from the middle of 1995 until the early part of 2003.  While there, the everyday use of the Internet took root and blossomed.  Prior to that, he was in Capricorn building the systems of the Internet.  Yes, the Internet has been around for a long time, but it was during the time that the planet in charge of the Internet was traveling through the zodiac sign in charge of the Internet, that the Internet seriously began to grow and expand into the incredible tool that it is today.

In Pisces, Uranus is somewhat subdued.  Pisces rules over the hidden forces that work behind the scenes.  Therefore, things like mental health, secrets, self-destruction, addictions, spiritual mysteries, bureaucracies, and “fogginess” are ruled by Pisces.  Therefore, we now have gambling, porn, and other self-destructive activities available online.  We also have government bureaucracies trying to legislate for or against Net Neutrality and spam.  We have all kinds of spiritual, mental health, self-help, and “positive attitude” information readily available as well.  Is it any wonder that people are becoming addicted to the Internet?  On the other hand, Uranus’ time in Pisces has helped us to befriend people from all over the world that we otherwise would not have gotten to know.  Global brotherhood is much easier to encompass.  Pisces believes in sacrificing for the greater good and Uranus is a huge fan of humanitarianism.  Together, they bring us websites that work to educate and promote helping those less fortunate in other countries.  Uranus may not have the razzamatazz in Pisces that he has in some other zodiac signs, but he is not without his charms within this area of our lives.

For Virgo, this has been occurring in your seventh house of partnerships.  Hosting Uranus in your seventh house can be very tough on a marriage.  Typically, when Uranus is in the seventh house, he pushes for independence, which is counterproductive in a marriage or business partnership.  Either the partner becomes chaotic, stubborn, and/or more interested in independence and social activities, or you start feeling as if you do not want to be tied down to just one partner.  In recent years, many Virgos have watched their spouses suddenly begin to act like teenagers, or they want to “find themselves” and need to be alone while doing so, or they just get kind of kooky without being able to really define why.  It is as tough on the partner as it is for you.  And some Virgos have simply decided that they want a partner who is a bright, cheerful, social butterfly and that their formerly loyal and dependable partner is suddenly too boring to be with any more.  With Pisces’ involvement, you could see secrets, mental health, addictions, self-destruction, and/or spiritual beliefs at the root of the problems.

Once Uranus moves into Aries, he can have some fun.  Aries is innovative, entrepreneurial, competitive, and loves being the first one to come up with a new idea.  Uranus is in love with new technology, teamwork, being unique while being part of something bigger than one’s self, and a brainstorming genius.  Both are extroverted, social, and stubborn.  Both are clever, fast, and pride themselves on their uniqueness.  At first, Uranus will enjoy a lovely summer visit into Aries and then later next year (2011), he will formally move into Aries for the next few years.  He reminds me of a teenager visiting a college campus before moving there permanently during the college years.  This first visit will be exhilarating and then going back into Pisces will feel stiff and too confining before he makes the official move to Aries.  Globally, we will probably see the Internet and new technology take off like crazy.  It will be interesting to see how the planet of teamwork and brotherly love affects the world while in the zodiac sign of warriors and “Me first!”  Does “me” or “we” prevail?

For Virgo, Uranus will be in your eighth house of trust and sharing, intimacy, fidelity, loyalty, joint finances, commissions, tips, loans, stock options, investments, inheritances, taxes, and other forms of profit sharing.  Your sex life can become exhilarating and/or chaotic.  You could find chaos, sexual problems, changing intimacy needs, and/or fidelity issues (especially with Jupiter also visiting this sector).  You can also find that teamwork, friendships, genius, and innovation are a positive addition to your financial life.  Commissions, royalties, tips, taxes, stocks, and/or your spouse’s income could become unpredictable.  You could find Uranus’ genius mixed with Aries’ innovation and entrepreneurial focus proves quite profitable over the next few years.

Neptune tries to bring emotional well-being, spirituality, and a touch of magic to whatever he touches.  Unfortunately, he also has a tendency to bring self-destruction, bureaucracies, and gullibility too.  He usually spends about 14 years in each zodiac sign.  Neptune rules over mental health, attitudes, intuition, secrets, spiritual mysteries, paranormal activities, charities, bureaucracies, and other hidden forces that work behind the scenes.  If things are good, he brings compassion and a touch of magic.  If things are bad, he brings delusions and fogginess.

As 2010 begins, Neptune is still in Aquarius and your sixth house.  He will stay here until January 2012.

In Aquarius, Neptune is behaving in sort of a yin-yang energy to Uranus.  Uranus is in Neptune’s zodiac sign and Neptune is in Uranus’ zodiac sign.  They are each doing their thing, but focusing on the other’s topics.  While Uranus is creating brotherhood online, Neptune is trying to make mental health, spirituality, and bureaucracies work for everyone.  One brings teamwork to humanitarian causes; the other brings humanitarian causes to teamwork.  One says, “I am mentally healthy and self-assured so that I can be a great team player.”  The other says, “I am a great team player so that I can feel mentally healthy and self-assured.”  Is it any wonder that “Yes we can” became the global motto in 2008?  To some, it is a delusional concept full of lollypop dreams and gullible “kool-aid” drinking.  To others, it is the logical and necessary blending of global teamwork and universal compassion.

For Virgo, Neptune has been blessing your sixth house of daily work, coworkers, to-do lists, productivity, physical health, and “feeling useful”.  Hosting Neptune in this area of your life could be tough on a Virgo.  You are the zodiac sign that rules over logic, organization skills, productivity, and getting things done on time.  Neptune is the polar opposite.  He rules over intuition, bureaucracies, and hidden things that cause self-destruction.  Your career could have been a real mess over the last few years as you have butted heads with Neptune in this area of your life.  If your work is analytical, tedious, and exacting, then you could hate having Neptune in this area of your chart.  If it is not your work that Neptune is focusing on, it could be your health.  He may have enticed you towards addictions or other self-destructive physical activities.  You could also be seduced into romantic relationships with coworkers.  Or your coworkers could be flaky, dishonest, delusional, and/or dealing with their own addictions or self-destructiveness.  On the other hand, you might have enjoyed having some strong gut instincts to help guide your way through bureaucratic messes and various work-related dramas.  If you work in industries involving mental health, addiction recovery, spirituality, paranormal, or charities, you could find Neptune quite helpful.

Pluto psychoanalyzes, empowers, and/or heals whatever he touches.  He has an uneven pattern and can spend as little as 13 years or as much as 32 years in any given zodiac sign.  His job is to uncover the hidden truths within our lives and to either empower us with passion and self-righteousness, or to heal us by forcing us to go through a Phoenix Rising type of experience.  It can be painful to endure Pluto’s scrutiny, but it can ultimately prove to be incredibly uplifting.  Personal rebirth is often the result of Pluto’s passage through certain areas of our life.  Pluto rules over trust and sharing.  It is often through hidden motivations, hidden assets, hidden agendas, hidden resources, and/or through loyalty and fidelity matters that we find out what we are really made of and we find out what our partners are really made of.  Pluto can reveal gifts, assets, stamina, and psychological resources that we had no idea existed within ourselves.  And Pluto can reveal the selfish, greedy, and emotionally crippling aspects of ourselves too.  All too often, he uses our need for sexual intimacy and financial teamwork (trust and sharing) to teach us these lessons.  The reason that Scorpios are known to be so revengeful is because Scorpio co-rules over the trust and sharing concepts with Pluto.  Breaking trust is the worst thing you can do to a Scorpio.  From Scorpio’s perspective, nothing could possibly be more important that the ability to trust others.

As 2010 begins, Pluto is still in Capricorn and your fifth house.  He moved into this area of your life in 2008 and will stay here until January 2024.

In Capricorn, Pluto focuses on doing the right thing because it is the thing to do.  Capricorn rules over professionalism, leadership, goals and aspirations, success, civic duty, public recognition, and earning the respect of our peers.  Remember earlier when we talked about Saturn and how he teaches us about karma, cause and effect, and “tough love” style life lessons.  When in Sagittarius, Pluto promoted exploring the world and all of the various cultures, peoples, religions, etc.  Sagittarius promoted freedom to explore and to dabble in various religious and cultural teachings.  The idea that all religions are more alike than different and therefore we can pick and chose bits and pieces of which ones we like is a very Sagittarian approach to religion and spirituality.  We focused on global travel, politics, and mass media.  Pluto had a good time digging deep down into the truth about our political beliefs, our religious practices, our international diplomacy, and such.  Now, he is focusing on the business systems, ethics, integrity, and professionalism of our world.  Do the large corporations follow ethical business practices?  Do we have integrity in our government agencies?  Do we as individuals, as communities, as states, as countries… do we take on a parental role and look out for those in need or do we focus on our own personal agendas?  It may not feel like a lot of fun, but this is the perfect energy for fixing the economic system, the environmental policies, the human rights violations, the health care system, welfare programs, voting fraud, etc.  Big systems that are broken can be fixed, healed, restructured, and/or demolished in a smart and tenacious manner.  We have the planet of passion, truth, and rebirth focused on the zodiac sign of responsibility, integrity, and leadership.

For Virgo, Pluto is in your fifth house of personal pleasure, romance, lovers, playtime, children, pets, hobbies, creative projects, luxuries, and happiness.  Pluto rules over trust and sharing, sexual unions, fidelity, joint finances, inheritances, commissions, royalties, stock options, insurances, taxes, lotteries, and other forms of profit sharing.  Pluto will help you to focus more on romantic commitments, passionate relationships, following your bliss, healing old emotional wounds through joyful activities, taking time out to smell the roses, and maybe even turning a favorite hobby or pastime into a profitable business.  You have the planet in charge of fidelity, trust and sharing, joint wealth, commissions, royalties, and profit sharing in the house of “happiness”.  Look for careers involving making the world a better place, spreading joy, and/or bringing beauty and luxury into the world to naturally work for you over the next few years.
