Synopsis:

 

Your boss, neighbors, relatives, and community members are all taking turns ticking you off this month.  However, you have a semi-constant flow of loving, healing, and happy energy aimed at your private life.  Despite all of the drama going on around you, you are able to bring safety, security, love, compassion, and harmony into your home.  Your parents and roommates will be helping you to bring more stability into your private life.

Old News

 

(Returning from the past)  From October 5th 2008 through March 12th 2009, Saturn and Uranus are in a major opposition.  They will take a break from this battle for a few months and then oppose each other again from August 22nd 2009 through October 9th 2009.  Globally, this is very similar to an opposition between these two planets back in 1965 and 1966.  Back in the mid-60’s, Saturn represented the older generation, conservative views, government, rules, regulations, chastity, prudence, and doing the right thing (like joining the military and supporting the Vietnam War as a sensible patriot).  Pluto was helping Uranus and together they represented the youthful rebellion of the time, “Age of Aquarius”, brotherhood, anarchy, individualistic personalities, independence, sexual freedom, chaos, and anti-war/anti-military sentiment.  It has taken a little over forty years, but these two planets have now traded places.  This is part of why we have a similar situation politically and culturally to what we had back then.  It is also why the concepts of a new generation wanting to take power from an older generation is also coming into play.  Culturally and politically, we will see this battle playing out.  Saturn is in Virgo representing banking systems, governments, and professional business protocol.  Uranus is in Pisces representing chaos, upheaval, and self-destruction.  Uranus also represents teamwork, social networking, and group dynamics, so we will see the Internet, “all for one and one for all”, and teamwork as the new solutions to many of our old problems.  This generational change cannot be stopped any more than the political and social changes that took place in the late 60’s could be stopped.  For better or worse, we must re-evaluate our political philosophies and attitudes about brotherhood.  Is the ideal philosophy “every man for himself” or “I am my brother’s keeper”?  The goal is for us to achieve balance, not for a pendulum to swing from one extreme to another.  For Scorpio, this dynamic is a shorter and less stubborn version of the battle that you dealt with last winter.  Once again, it is between your eleventh house of friends, teams, clubs, committees, professional associations, networking, connectivity, groups, social skills, and the Internet and your fifth house of personal pleasure, lovers, children, pets, hobbies, creative talents, and luxury.  Since Uranus is involved, you could find unexpected events, chaotic drama, friends, the Internet, or a desire for independence is causing the uproar.  Uranus is seriously promoting social outings, independence, and freedom.  Saturn is insisting on commitments, responsibility, and long-term outlooks.  There are no easy answers.  You have to decide if what is being offered makes you happy or not.  To a point, this is about “my happiness, my romance, and my children” versus “the greater good, independence, and social obligations”.

 

From September 19th through October 11th, Mercury backtracks and officially rejoins Saturn in his battle with Uranus.  The sun is still there too, so it is a pretty tough battle.  The sun leaves September 20th and Saturn leaves October 9th, so even though it starts out bad, the energy begins easing up.  With Mercury being the last planet to participate in this opposition, he has the responsibility of trying to negotiate peace talks.  It will not be easy, but you might be able to find balance between your social obligations and personal happiness.  (Globally, the economic, political, and social battles that arise when Saturn and Uranus clash will ease up just in time for the holidays!)

 

From September 28th through October 9th, Mars gets in-between Mercury and Uranus’ battle and tries to help smooth things over.  Uranus is still representing lovers, children, pets, hobbies, creative projects, luxury items, your ability to be happy, and/or a happiness-oriented career.  Mercury is still representing friends, teams, clubs, committees, professional associations, the Internet, and connectivity.  Mars is in your legal, global, and mass media sector.  You might be able to smooth things over in the social obligations versus personal happiness battle by showing that an open-minded philosophical approach is beneficial to everyone involved.  You could also use academic, religious, political, and cultural events to gather everyone together in one fun location so that you can kill two birds with one stone; thus finding a way to spend time with more than one group of people at a time.  Traveling abroad and having a global focus is especially appealing at this time.  Those of you working in “happiness” industries, “internet” industries, team-oriented careers, travel industries, universities, religious and/or legal professions could find this is an extremely good time for business networking and for remembering why you love your job.

 

New Developments

 

October 3rd hosts a full moon in your daily work, coworkers, to-do lists, productivity, chores, duties, physical health, and “feeling useful” sector.  Full moons are for endings, closure, grand finales, and “ta-da!” moments and there is nothing negatively affecting this one.  Therefore, this is a great time for putting the finishing touches on a big project you have been working on, quitting jobs you hate, FINALLY finding a job after a long job search, saying goodbye to coworkers, and/or for accomplishing (doctor approved) fitness goals.  This should be a positive ending in your work sector.

 

From October 6th through the 13th, the sun and Jupiter work quite nicely together to blend your mental health, attitudes, intuition, spiritual mysteries, secrets, bureaucracies, and “hidden forces working behind the scenes” sector with your real estate, housing matters, roommates, parents, childhood issues, safety and security, retirement circumstances, and “coming home” sector.  This is a lovely time for bringing a spirit of peace, harmony, and joy into your private life.  You could work on ironing out mortgages or rental contracts involving bureaucracies.  You could redecorate or maybe create a meditation and prayer space in your home.  You could enjoy spending time with roommates, your parents, and/or houseguests.  You could also spend some time working on retirement planning or helping your parents figure out theirs.  This is a great time for letting go of childhood issues and resentment towards your parents.  Anything that brings more inner peace and security into your private life is encouraged at this time.

 

From October 8th through the 12th, Venus takes her turn opposing Uranus.  Once again, a battle between your personal happiness and your social obligations is causing problems.  Since Venus is involved, it could be about romance or money this time.

 

From October 9th through the 12th, Mercury moves back into the spot he was in a few weeks ago when he battled Pluto in your interpersonal communications, commercial activities, and local community sector.  Once again, you could be dealing with drunken neighbors, dysfunctional family members, local gossip, and/or tough negotiations with bureaucrats.  It could be your secrets, your dysfunctional behaviors, your addictions, etc that has everyone talking.  Or, you are the one that everyone turns to for help with whoever is causing all of the drama.  Whether you cause it or are expected to fix it, you are in the middle of the mess whether you like it or not.  Bite your tongue and just do the best you can.

 

From October 11th through March 9th, Saturn and Pluto clash.  This is that same battle that the sun and Mercury triggered.  This time, it is bigger, uglier, and far more important.  Saturn is leaving your social networking sector and is moving into your mental health, secrets, and bureaucracies sector.  From this new location, he will be trying to teach you some life lessons about your attitude, spiritual beliefs, emotional well-being, and/or dealing with bureaucracies and other hidden forces working behind the scenes.  Pluto is trying to add personal power, enlightenment, profits, and sex appeal to your interpersonal communications, intellect, commercial activities, and community relationships.  With these two titans clashing, you could find your psychological well-being and your local community are in a major upheaval.  Neighbors, extended family, siblings, and people in your local community are driving you crazy.  They are needy, nosy, demanding, judgmental, and/or secretive.  They are poking their noses into your personal life or they are expecting you to resolve all of their dramas and petty bickering.  You could feel like hiding from these people, but they will ferret you out.  You could also find that hospitals, prisons, large corporations, government agencies, institutions, and other bureaucratic organizations are part of the drama that is upsetting everyone so much.  Sales, negotiations, and other interactions with various bureaucrats are especially challenged over the next few months.

 

From October 13th through the 17th, Venus joins Saturn in the battle with Pluto.  You could find that finances, fairness, a female, or an effeminate male adds to your problems.

 

From October 13th through the 20th, the sun and Neptune are working quite nicely together.  The sun is still in your mental health, intuition, spiritual mysteries, secrets, charities, bureaucracies, and “hidden forces working behind the scenes” sector.  Neptune is still in your real estate, housing matters, roommates, parents, childhood issues, retirement circumstances, and “coming home” sector.  This is a great time for working on emotional issues, overcoming fear and doubt, and spending quiet time alone meditating, praying, or doing whatever activities help you to feel relaxed, centered, and able to connect to your inner muse, spiritual guide, and/or to simply clear your mind so that you can figure out which is your best path.  It is also a great time for forgiving your parents, making peace with your roommates, bringing romance and compassion into your private life, and/or for working to turn your home into your own private oasis away from the drama and headaches of the work world.

 

October 17th (or 18th depending on which time zone you are in at the time), you have a new moon in your mental health, spirituality, and bureaucracy sector that is positively affected by the dynamic involving the sun and Neptune in the previous paragraph.  This is a lovely energy for taking on a new attitude, giving yourself a renewed sense of faith, beginning new spiritual practices, and/or for signing contracts that involve working with large corporations and other types of bureaucracies.  This new beginning should bring peace of mind, spiritual enlightenment, and/or a fresh new attitude into your life.

 

From October 19th through the 22nd, Mercury and Jupiter are blending your mental health, spirituality, and bureaucracy sector with your real estate, housing matters, roommates, parents, childhood issues, retirement circumstances, and “coming home” sector.  This is another waves of that lovely energy promoting your emotional well-being, a harmonious home life, getting along with your parents, and negotiating mortgages and other real estate deals with bureaucrats.  First, the sun took turns working with Jupiter and then Neptune to blend these two areas of your life, now Mercury is doing the same.  Venus will too.

 

From October 22nd through the 25th, the sun and Pluto are getting along quite nicely.  Pluto is still in your communications, commerce, and community sector and the sun is moving into Scorpio and your “me” sector.  This is a great time for using your charm and social skills to improve things with your neighbors, siblings, extended family, and community members.  You are in a better position to explain yourself now and to persuade people to see things your way.  This is also a better time for contract negotiations, sales meetings, shopping, and/or for working on communications projects.  Mercury, Venus, and eventually Mars (when he finally catches up with the others) will all pass through this same spot promoting the idea of you being a persuasive communicator and effective negotiator.

 

From October 22nd through the 26th, Mercury switches from working with Jupiter to working with Neptune.  Mercury is still in your mental health, spirituality, and bureaucracy sector.  This is another wonderful opportunity to work on real estate deals, retirement planning, and creating more security in your private life.  It is also another chance to bond with your parents or roommates and to bring more inner peace and harmony into your home.

From October 28th through the 29th, Mercury takes a quick turn working with Pluto to brainstorm creative ideas that help with communications, commercial, and/or community-related projects.  Mercury brings intelligence, contract negotiations, people skills, and enthusiasm to these areas of your life.

From November 7th through the 10th, Venus takes her turn working with Pluto.  Venus is moving into Scorpio and your “me” sector.  Pluto is still in your interpersonal communications, commercial activities, and local community sector.  These are the two planets in charge of all forms of seduction and wealth.  Therefore, this is a great time for business deals, contract negotiations, sales proposals, bargain hunting, and other commercial activities.  You are more persuasive than usual and you have a better than normal chance of coming out financially ahead.  This is also a great time for romantic conversations, written and verbal projects, and in-depth conversations.  You could also find that this is a lovely time for dealing with neighbors, family, community members, and other “clansmen”.
