Synopsis:

The battle between your “home” and your “career” is finally ending. It is replaced with some lovely financial energy and with a great deal of social energy. This is a wonderful time for professional and social networking. Whether you are selling something, persuading others to see things your way, creating an Internet presence, and/or attending local gatherings, you are bright, charming, and fun to hang out with this month.

Old News

(Returning from the past) From October 5th 2008 through March 12th 2009, Saturn and Uranus are in a major opposition. They will take a break from this battle for a few months and then oppose each other again from August 22nd 2009 through October 9th 2009. Globally, this is very similar to an opposition between these two planets back in 1965 and 1966. Back in the mid-60’s, Saturn represented the older generation, conservative views, government, rules, regulations, chastity, prudence, and doing the right thing (like joining the military and supporting the Vietnam War as a sensible patriot). Pluto was helping Uranus and together they represented the youthful rebellion of the time, “Age of Aquarius”, brotherhood, anarchy, individualistic personalities, independence, sexual freedom, chaos, and anti-war/anti-military sentiment. It has taken a little over forty years, but these two planets have now traded places. This is part of why we have a similar situation politically and culturally to what we had back then. It is also why the concepts of a new generation wanting to take power from an older generation is also coming into play. Culturally and politically, we will see this battle playing out. Saturn is in Virgo representing banking systems, governments, and professional business protocol. Uranus is in Pisces representing chaos, upheaval, and self-destruction. Uranus also represents teamwork, social networking, and group dynamics, so we will see the Internet, “all for one and one for all”, and teamwork as the new solutions to many of our old problems. This generational change cannot be stopped any more than the political and social changes that took place in the late 60’s could be stopped. For better or worse, we must re-evaluate our political philosophies and attitudes about brotherhood. Is the ideal philosophy “every man for himself” or “I am my brother’s keeper”? The goal is for us to achieve balance, not for a pendulum to swing from one extreme to another. For Sagittarius, this dynamic will show up as a battle between your public and private life, between your home and career, or between your parents. Since Uranus is involved, you could find unexpected events, chaotic drama, friends, the Internet, or a desire for independence is causing the uproar. This could also be a roommate that is unhappy with your focus on professional goals. If it is your folks that are battling, the “authority figure” will be pushing for logic, responsibility, or “what will the neighbors say?” The “nurturing figure” will be flaky, delusional, or self-destructive. It could be that one is aging and unable to care for themselves and the other has to work hard to take care of everything. That is not necessarily a “battle” between the two of them, but it is still a source of stress. It could simply be the classic “climbing the Ladder of Success” versus “creating a happy home life” battle that many of us experience at one time or other. Or maybe a boss is asking you to pack up and move to another city and your family is in an uproar over it. This time the battle is shorter and less severe than the same battle last winter.

From September 19th through October 11th, Mercury backtracks and officially rejoins Saturn in his battle with Uranus. The sun is still there too, so it is a pretty tough battle. The sun leaves September 20th and Saturn leaves October 9th, so even though it starts out bad, the energy begins easing up. With Mercury being the last planet to participate in this opposition, he has the responsibility of trying to negotiate peace talks. It will not be easy, but you might be able to find balance between your home life and professional life. (Globally, the economic, political, and social battles that arise when Saturn and Uranus clash will ease up just in time for the holidays!)

From September 28th through October 9th, Mars gets in-between Mercury and Uranus’ battle and tries to help smooth things over. Mercury is still representing your professional goals, leadership, success, and/or your boss. Uranus is still representing your home life, parents, or roommates. Mars is in your trust and sharing (intimacy and profit sharing) sector. If your folks are unhappy with your professional path, showing them the money you are earning could help. Or if you are struggling with having to relocate, the company might help you with moving costs. Or if you are having trouble balance work and home, a lover might be able to help you find ways to create balance.

New Developments

October 3rd hosts a full moon in your personal pleasure, romance, lovers, playtime, children, pets, hobbies, creative talents, music, theater, sports, luxury, fine dining, and other “happiness” oriented topics sector. Full moons are for endings, closure, grand finales, and “ta-da!” moments. You could complete a creative project, finally purchase a big-ticket item you have been saving up for, fall in love, or finish working on a hobby. Any “ta-da!” moment that brings great joy and happiness into your life is favored at this time.

From October 6th through the 13th, the sun and Jupiter work quite nicely together to blend your social networking sector with your communications, negotiations, commerce, and local community sector. This is a lovely time for using the Internet to get the word out about your professional activities. It is also a great time for socializing with friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues. You can mix business with pleasure if you like and do some professional networking and promotional sales while enjoying social gatherings. Professional associations, clubs, teams, and the Internet can be very useful with the sales, commerce, and marketing aspects of your career. This is also a great time for simply enjoying laughter and good times with neighbors, friends, and family. The sun, Mercury, and Venus will pass through here taking turns creating this lovely energy. First they hook up with Jupiter and then with nearby Neptune. This is the beginning of a delightful reoccurring social networking energy. Have fun with it!

From October 8th through the 12th, Venus takes her turn opposing Uranus. Once again, a battle between home and career, between your parents, or between you public reputation and your private life is causing problems. Since Venus is involved, it could be about romance or money this time. Venus could also represent a female boss, authority figure, or father figure (or an effeminate male in the same role) that is adding to the drama.

From October 9th through the 12th, Mercury moves back into the spot he was in a few weeks ago when he battled Pluto in your personal wealth sector. Once again, you and a friend, team, club, committee, professional associations, Webmaster, website, and/or networking project are not seeing eye-to-eye about financial matters. Someone owes money, someone wants to borrow money, someone is arguing over how to divvy up profits, etc. You should also be very careful when conducting any financial transactions online.

From October 11th through March 9th, Saturn and Pluto clash. This is that same battle that the sun and Mercury triggered. This time, it is bigger, uglier, and far more important. Saturn is leaving your “success” sector and moving into your “social networking” sector. From this new location, he is trying to teach you some life lessons about your social skills, how you interact as part of a team, club, committee, etc, or the life lessons could be about the Internet. Pluto is trying to add personal power, enlightenment, profits, and sex appeal to your personal finances and your sense of self-worth. With these two titans clashing, you could find your social life and your finances are in a major upheaval. It could be website promotions, membership dues, etc. If you join a team, club, or association and become “one of the gang”, you could find that you are not paid your fair share or you feel like you are working for a lot less than you deserve. Or the inability to get hired by a group could have a harsh effect on your self-confidence. This is the first of Saturn’s “social networking” life lessons. Still, it should be less troublesome than Saturn’s travels through your professional goals and aspirations, leadership, public reputation, and success sector over the last few years.

From October 13th through the 17th, Venus joins Saturn in the battle with Pluto. You could find that a female friend, teammate, committee member, colleague, Webmaster, (or an effeminate male) adds to your financial problems.

From October 13th through the 20th, the sun and Neptune are working quite nicely together. The sun is still in your friends, teams, clubs, committees, professional associations, networking, and the Internet sector. Neptune is still in your communications (writing), commerce (negotiations), and community sector. This is a great time for internet marketing, giving sales pitches to groups of people, business negotiations involving the Internet and group activities, and/or for socializing and enjoying great conversations with friends, relatives, neighbors, and colleagues.

October 17th (or 18th depending on which time zone you are in at the time), you have a new moon in your social networking sector that is positively affected by the dynamic involving the sun and Neptune in the previous paragraph. This is a lovely energy for joining clubs, teams, committees, associations, Internet chat groups, etc. It is a great time for launching websites, networking projects, and other group activities. You could also enjoy meeting new friends. Any new beginning or fresh start in your social life is blessed.

From October 19th through the 22nd, Mercury and Jupiter are blending your friends, teams, clubs, and social networking sector with your local community, commercial activities, communications, and negotiations sector. This is a wonderful time for professional and social networking, hanging out with friends, selling your business ideas to groups, and mixing business with pleasure during various gatherings. You could enjoy time with new friends or let family members introduce you to some new people.

From October 22nd through the 25th, the sun and Pluto are getting along quite nicely. Pluto is still in your personal wealth sector and the sun is moving into your mental health, attitudes, intuition, spiritual mysteries, secrets, bureaucracies, and “hidden forces working behind the scenes” sector. This is a great time for praying and meditating to help fine-tune your financial goals. You can spend some time plotting and planning what steps you will be taking to reach your goals and making sure that you are not subconsciously sabotaging your own efforts. Mercury, Venus, and eventually Mars (when he finally catches up with the others) will all pass through this same spot promoting the idea of aligning your emotional and financial outlooks. Jobs or projects involving mental health or spiritual industries, and/or professional projects involving hospitals, prisons, charities, institutions, corporations, government agencies, and other bureaucracies could prove quite profitable at this time.

From October 22nd through the 26th, Mercury switches from working with Jupiter to working with Neptune. Mercury is still in your social networking sector. This is another wonderful opportunity to socialize with friends, family, neighbors, teammates, and colleagues. It is also a great time for Internet projects, contract negotiations concerning associations, committees, and other group activities. It is another wave of positive energy that can help you meet interesting new people for social and business purposes.

From October 24th through November 4th, the sun and Mars are clashing. Mars is in your legal, political, religious, cultural, academic, and travel sector. The sun is in your mental health, attitudes, intuition, spiritual mysteries, secrets, bureaucracies, and “hidden forces working behind the scenes” sector. When these two sectors clash, we often see problems involving a “know it all” being pushy and trying to shove their beliefs, opinions, rules, and/or knowledge on you when you want to have a more open-minded, spiritual, and/or intuitive outlook towards such things. You could also experience problems with travel visas, international governments, foreign corporations, and/or a debate between religious dogma and spiritual intuitiveness.

From October 26th through the 31st, Venus takes her turn working with Jupiter to bring more teamwork, social networking, Internet marketing, and/or friends into your business deals, commercial activities, local community, and/or extended family. Social networking can help you feel like a well-connected member of the community.

From October 28th through the 29th, Mercury takes a quick turn working with Pluto to brainstorm creative ideas that help with bureaucratic, psychological, and/or spiritual elements of financial projects. Mercury brings intelligence, contract negotiations, people skills, and enthusiasm to your financial goals.

From October 29th through April 8th, Saturn leaves Virgo and your tenth house to enter Libra and your eleventh house. He will backtrack and revisit Virgo and your tenth house from April 8th through July 20th. After that, he will stay in Libra and your eleventh house for the next couple of years. For Sagittarius, hosting Saturn in your eleventh house of friends, teams, clubs, committees, professional associations, networking, connectivity, and the Internet can be rather stressful. You are by nature, a social and outgoing person. You are capable of working alone or in pairs, but you really enjoy being around others. Having Saturn teach you “life lessons” by challenging this area of your life can be hard on you. Saturn’s goal is to make you a better friend, teammate, and colleague. He is also working to teach you a thing or two about whom you chose as friends and associates and why that matters. Saturn cares deeply about things like honor, loyalty, and dependability, so do not be surprised if these are the topics he focuses on while traveling through your social life.

From October 31st through November 5th, Venus begins working with Neptune. Together, these two like to create romance, love, compassion, charities, and the fine arts. They are dreamy, sexy, and into a spiritual mystical kind of romance. Financially, they create a generous, intuitive, and/or philanthropic approach to wealth. They are currently blending your social networking sector and your communications, commerce, and community sector. This is a lovely energy for teamwork, community outreach, social gatherings, expanding your social circles, and giving a website a pretty makeover.
